Halitosis Detector saves the day

Single guys ought to make the Halitosis Detector a part of their ‘dating’ arsenal, since you can’t really tell on your own if you have a breath bad enough to kill plants. This nifty little device comes with built-in sensors that are capable of rating your breath in four stages, ranging from really good to brimstone and sulfur status from the deepest abyss. As it costs $11, that’s a small price to pay considering your breath might make or break your future the hot date whom you’ll be going out with tonight for dinner. Xbox 360 HD DVD player now officially $129.99
Posted Feb 6th 2008 3:46PM by Donald MelansonFiled under: Gaming, HDTV It’s already taken the plunge at a number of retailers, but Microsoft has just now gotten official with the new $129.99 price point for the Xbox 360 HD DVD add-on (which still includes a copy of King Kong and the offer for five free HD DVDs by mail). Of course, that price is the MSRP, which means we could very well be seeing even bigger discounts on the drive at retailers, even if they aren’t all as steep as Amazon’s all too brief $80 bonanza.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in] (Read the full post about ‘Xbox 360 HD DVD player now officially $129.99′…)

Duke Nukem Forever coming in 2008!

Written by admin on Wednesday, February 6th, 2008 in gadgets.

Duke Nukem Forever may not be vaporware. It looks like the game that’s been baking for a dozen or so years will finally see a release after all. And if the Dallas Business Journal can be trusted, it will be out this very year.

According to an e-mail exchange between the newspaper and the President of 3D Realms, the title is likely to hit in late 2008, but it might miss by a couple months. It’s also expected to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, although that is still unofficial.

It also seems as if the original Duke Nukem will find its way onto Xbox Live Arcade sometime this year.

My immediate reaction to all things Duke Nukem is unbridled excitement.

Walkman Case Hides iPod

Walkman Case Hides iPod
iPod theft has gotten pretty common since Apple’s portable media player took the world by storm, so what’s an iPod owner supposed to do? Well, other than make sure it remains well hidden, you can always take the ingenious route by storing it inside the shell of an unused Sony Walkman. How ironic, using the dead “body” of the 80s iconic audio player to keep the millennium’s top PMP away from the sight of many. Just make sure you don’t use the iPod’s famous white earphones with it or you’ll probably give the game away. Folks who are great with DIY jobs will be able to find this a very viable project to keep them occupied over the weekend. (Read the full post about ‘Walkman Case Hides iPod’…)

Windows 7 video explained, its almost all Vista

Windows 7 video explained, its almost all Vista
Remember that Windows 7 video, the one that looked strangely like Vista. Well it turns out it pretty much was Vista, at least in the design. It seems the video that was taken was of Windows 7 Milestone 1 which is actually not a standalone OS, but actually requires Vista to run. According to TG Daily Windows 7 Milestone 1 gets installed on top Vista and SP1 is required. So with that the icons and functionality remain the same as Vista currently is. Basically Windows 7 M1 currently is the foundation of what could possibly be a “new and much leaner kernel” and without Vista would as of now just be a basic UI and raw code. iPhone Monitors Power Usage

iPhone Monitors Power Usage
The iPhone isn’t only good for calls and viewing multimedia content, but with the Current State software, it empowers you with the ability to turn plugs on and off, activate timers while keeping track of everything remotely thanks to plug-ends which bridge power sockets that are synced to your handset. The included feature of showing “hotspots” of energy wastage is definitely a boon as you can then tell just how environmentally friendly your energy consumption at home is. Too bad this is but a concept at this point in time - will somebody brilliant out there give enough thought to program something like Current State? Garmin’s nuvifone flaunted on video
Posted Feb 6th 2008 9:21AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Cellphones, GPS We’re rather watch a couple hours of Home Shopping Network than subject ourselves twice to these promo videos for Garmin’s nuvifone, but the “Scenario” video is at least worth a first viewing, since it provides a few action shots of the mail app, camera and (most importantly) browser in action. Don’t get too excited, this isn’t the tell-all we’ve been hoping for, but if you can’t get enough nuvifone — and who can? (Read the full post about ‘Garmin’s nuvifone flaunted on video’…)

Girly Gamer Accessories!

Girly Gamer Accessories!
I consider myself a girl gamer. Not necessarily hard-core gamer, but I did play a mean game of Warcraft III (Night Elf!) and Command & Conquer (China!) during my college days. And right now I’m pretty much hooked on World of Warcraft and I definitely have a good history of game playing since I was in diapers. (Can anyone say Family Computer? Or, maybe Atari!!!! Hahaha.) So anyways, here are a couple of geeky game accessories I think gamer girls like me would definitely love! Space Invader Necklace! Price: £10.00 Pac-Man Necklace! Price: £8.00 Ghost Brooch Price: £7.00 Nintendo Game Controller Necklace I’m totally love the ribbon. Comes in Yellow, too! (Read the full post about ‘Girly Gamer Accessories!’…)

Teclast T50 PMP

Teclast T50 PMP
The Teclast T50 portable media player might not have arrived on the scene with a bang, unlike those pesky iPods, but this model sure adds something that the majority of its competition doesn’t have at the moment - a capacitive multitouch display. Unfortunately, very little is known about the T50 at this point in time other than the afore-mentioned display, RVVB, FLV and dual independent audio processors. No word on whether this will even arrive Stateside, but hope springs eternal is my motto. (Read the full post about ‘Teclast T50 PMP’…)
