Olympus Goes Mod With Limited-Edition Digicam
Does your camera scream "I have a cool new digicam! Go ahead and mug me!"? If not, it’s time to get your bid in for one of the new limited-edition models of the Olympus Stylus 1020 (10 megapixels, 7x zoom). Each camera comes with a colorful skin designed by Hungarian artist Matei Apostolescu. I’d say the results are quite pleasing in a retro, Peter Max-y kind of way, but what do I know about art? Olympus will only sell 5,000 of them, price and availability TBA. The unadorned version of the 1020 sells for $350. Former Polish prime minister opposes online voting, says Internet users are all watching porn
Posted Mar 12th 2008 1:43PM by Nilay PatelFiled under: Misc. gadgets Sure, electronic voting has had its fair share of troubles, but there’s not denying that it’s the wave of the future — and we’re always intrigued by plans like the one being floated in Poland right now that would allow citizens to vote online from their homes, since that seems like a great way to increase participation. Nokia’s N810 internet tablet gets a $90 price cut
If you’ve been looking for some kind of incentive to dip into the savings account and splurge on a new gadget, this may be music to your ears. Nokia has just lowered the price on its jack-of-all-trades N810 internet tablet, shaving $90 off the MSRP to bring it down to a highly affordable $389.99. Of course, you can probably find the WiFi-sportin’, QWERTY-havin’, GPS-rockin’ little guy slightly cheaper if you troll the internet (which we know you will). Before you lay down the cash, though, you might want to ask yourself this: does the price drop mean a new version is on the way, like, say… that WiMAX-equipped N830 we’ve been hearing about? Lionsgate Includes iPod Version With DVDs

Lionsgate Includes iPod Version With DVDs
In what might seem like a rare example of good sense from the Big Content industry, film studio Lionsgate has announced plans to sell special-edition DVDs that include an ipod/iphone version of the movie. Not so great news: The discs will be loaded up with DRM that requires a serial code to load the movie into iTunes and limits each disc to attachment to a single iTunes library. Truly bad news: The initial releases are "Rambo" and "The Eye," which feels rather like a slap at the taste of Appletonians. "Rambo," in particular, seems like the kind of opus destined to be viewed on a low-end portable DVD player. Selected Lionsgate DVD’s to include a copy for your iPod [Digital Home} (Read the full post about ‘Lionsgate Includes iPod Version With DVDs’…)

Mr T Bobble Head Van

Most of you will remember the classic A-Team that ran through the 80’s. Mr. T played a legend of a character named Bosco ‘BA’ (Bad Attitude) Baracas. He drove around in his cool black 1983 GMC van with the red stripe, red rims and spoiler on the back and got seriously mad at any scratch. Now you can own your own Mr T Bobble Head Van for just $19.95. Currently WickedCoolStuff is taking pre-orders for expected delivery this month. Classic Star Trek Communicator: One to Beam Up for Awesome.

Classic Star Trek Communicator: One to Beam Up for Awesome.

I’m coming off the Death Flu 2008. During my time of holding my bed down, I watched a lot of my Season One box set of Star Trek (the Original Series). Classic, buff Captain Kirk swaggering all over the galaxy with his ever-present Science Officer Spock and his impudent eyebrow cocking. Great stuff. The gadgets were awesome too. Imagine my glee when I saw on Think Geek that they sell the Star Trek Classic Communicator! This is better than that time when I got that Tribble! From the website: Now you too can talk to the Enterprise no matter where you are. Just flip up the grill, and you’ll be greeted with the lights and sounds you’ve come to know and love. iPhone SDK downloads exceed 100,000, upcoming games get outed

iPhone SDK downloads exceed 100,000, upcoming games get outed
Posted Mar 12th 2008 9:28AM by Darren MurphFiled under: cellphones, Gaming Just four days after Apple announced that the beta version of the iPhone SDK would be available to developers, some 100,000 downloads have taken place. ‘Course, it’s not like we’re shocked by Cupertino’s latest horn tooting, but we’ve all ideas that number pales in comparison to the amount of requests for unlocks. Nevertheless, the real news from the Apple camp is that companies such as Namco and PopCap are apparently on board to bring titles such as Pac-man, Galaga, Bejeweled, Zuma and Peggle to the ipod touch / iPhone via App Store. CeBit is one of the world’s largest computer conventions, but after the massive product announcement downpour of the last two months, it seems there wasn’t anything new to discuss in the exhibitor halls in the last week.

So how did the companies keep everyone’s attention? By letting people play with touchscreens, and believe it, nothing is hotter right now than touchscreens. In the T-Mobile area, an extended Media Wall was placed in the middle of the space, but the most interesting part about it was its transparency, which we haven’t seen before. We’re not sure if this was a Han Wall or not, but it seemed to work as a good advertising model.
