Apple patent application hints at iPhone flip phone
Posted Mar 17th 2008 11:33AM by Donald MelansonFiled under: cellphones, Laptops You’ll have to take this one with the usual patent application caveats but, as Unwired View reports, one of Apple’s recent filings seems to indicate that it has at least considered the possibility of an iphone flip phone of sorts, among other dual-screen possibilities. The application itself is for what’s described as a “dual sided trackpad,” which would be translucent and boast touch sensitive panels on each side, allowing it to be used both when it’s opened or when it’s covering the main display. Nike SportsBand Hitting Retail Next Month
April will be a time fitness buffs who love music fall head over heels with Nike’s SportsBand. This exercising device helps accomplish everything the current Nike+iPod does, but it won’t add any new dimension. All the essentials such as recording the distance covered and velocity among others are still there, and the SportsBand won’t oust the Nike+iPod from its current market position. The SportsBand is mainly for folks who don’t have or refuse to pick up an ipod nano just to clock up a few miles along the pavement. Word has it the Nike SportsBand will retail for approximately €60. Nikon D60 First Look

Nikon D60 First Look
Nikon’s D60 has made it into stores, and I picked one up over the weekend. As the illustrious David Becker has pointed out, the D60 is really just an incremental upgrade from the D40. The biggest new features are a slew of in-camera retouching options (all of which are easier to do on a computer), a sensor cleaning system and a stop-motion function. More useful is the faster startup time, Active-D Lighting (which tweaks the image for better shadow details), and the VR (Vibration Reduction) lens, Nikon’s take on image stabilization, which comes in the standard kit (there is also a cheaper kit without a VR lens). Flickr Video coming soon, do we need another YouTube?
Rumors are spreading around that Flickr Video may soon be seeing the light of day. And no, they are not talking about a couple of months but in a matter of weeks, April to be a bit exact. Both News.com’s Dan Farber and TechCrunch’s Michael Arrington have reasons and sources to believe that Yahoo’s widely used and most popular web service is actually extending its clout to offer an online video service ala YouTube. If indeed Flickr Video is coming soon, then it better have something better to offer than what YouTube does. YouTube have become an epitome of what user-generated video content is all about. It has gone a long way since it was launched by a couple of cool programmers sometime in 2005 or was it 2006? (Read the full post about ‘Flickr Video coming soon, do we need another YouTube?’…)

If we will not see what is surrounding us something bad might happen. Maybe some night vision device could help… But they are too bulky and expensive to be used in normal life. Ben Heck refines his one-handed Xbox 360 controller
Posted Mar 17th 2008 9:20AM by Paul MillerFiled under: Gaming Though Ben’s still hard at work at the modular “Access” one-handed controller to be sold by eDimensional, he’s certainly not frittering away that free time of his. The latest and greatest mod by Ben Heckendorn is a refined version of his right-handed Xbox 360 controller. As opposed to the one-size-fits-all modularity of the Access, his one-handed controllers puts all the buttons easily within reach and places the right analog stick at the base of the controller — you play the game by moving the analog stick against your leg.
