More Motorola CTIA News

More Motorola CTIA News
Motorola will be ousting its H680 Bluetooth headset with the H690, featuring dual microphones and echo-reducing software that Motorola claims to deliver a more crisp call for recipients, while the redesigned earbud is meant to be easier on your ear in the long run. Currently, Motorola has pegged a 5.5 hour talktime to the headset. As for the ROKR EQ3, this speaker is a first for Motorola. Targeting music-centric handsets like the ROKR E8 and PMPs, the EQ3 folds out from a travel-sized block, connecting to the (thankfully) 3.5mm headphone jack or through Bluetooth. A quartet of AAA batteries will be able to power the EQ3 up to 12 hours. Both the H690 and EQ3 will ship this spring, with no word on pricing as at press time. Nokia Unveils WiMax-Enabled N810 Internet Tablet
Nokia’s Internet Tablet line has always been something of an odd duck. The first iteration was a touchscreen-only job whose operating system was about as user-friendly as the Linux nerds who used it. But with every update this family of open-source palmtops has eked closer to the mainstream, first sprouting a camera, then a keyboard, and now, with the N810 refresh announced a few minutes ago, WiMax and a sexy darkened paintjob. It’s called, not surprisingly, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet: WiMax Edition. Just rolls off the tongue. It’s due out this summer at a price TBD. Before you ask, no, it still isn’t a phone. But if WiMax gets as ubiquitous as its boosters would like us to believe, Nokia’s tablets won’t need cellular capabilities. Nokia N810 with WiMAX in the wild

Nokia N810 with WiMAX in the wild
While technically, the April 1 release of Nokia’s WiMAX-enabled N810 is still just a rumor, more evidence suggests that this might be more than just a distinct possibility. Especially now that CTIA is well on its way, its quite easy to see how all these “in the wild” photos end up in public. The image above came from a Nokia employee’s Flickr page with two others, but checking on it now, you’ll find that these photos have been removed. Good thing a forum member at Internet Tablet Talk saved a copy of the first one, or else there would be no way to prove the integrity of this rumor. Perhaps tomorrow, we’ll see some official N810 product shots, and maybe even the Flickr photos will be restored on the Net by its owner. Nike+ Sportband to be made available next week

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 in gadgets.

For stylish runners who want to make sure they’re not slacking off on their daily routine, perhaps there’s nothing better than Nike running shoes paired with a Nike+ accessory. The Nike+ iPod was one formidable setup but Nike’s latest move shows just how fruitful the partnership turned out to be. Apparently, Nike has ditched the Nike+ iPod setup and instead will deliver its own brand of accessory to go with the Nike+ service. Nike’s new accessory will be called the Nike+ Sportband, and yes, this is what Nike minus ipod is going to be all about.

Colorware gets ahold of Guitar Hero axes — we’re in love
Posted Apr 1st 2008 2:42AM by Darren MurphFiled under: Gaming If you thought a Colorware’d DS Lite was the new heat, get a load of this. The company famous for making gadgetry of all kinds look its best has turned its talents on the iconic Guitar Hero axe, and we must say, we’re infatuated. Wii, Xbox 360 and playstation 3 thrashers are all invited, and while users can join the revolution for as little as $198 (that includes the title and a painted instrument), current slingers can send their guitar in and get it colorized for as little as $99. For those on a budget, we strongly recommend not clicking the links below. Those completely unafraid of purging their wallet on impulse buys can go ahead.[Thanks, Adam]Read - Colorwa (Read the full post about ‘Colorware gets ahold of Guitar Hero axes — we’re in love’…)

HP tries to bring the “top” back in desktop with Pavilion m9200t
Usually, when someone asks me what kind of computer would be a great buy, I’d just tell them to stay away from clunky desktops to make sure that they don’t get something that’s half-baked (a lot of desktop PCs are like that nowadays). Many desktop PCs are simply not worth the second look that they used to command. Plus it’s easier to work with a mobile. But in continuing its tradition of trying to bring back the sex in desktop setups, HP rolls out the Pavilion m9200t. It’s a media-centric desktop PC that’s so full of features, HP didn’t need to include a keyboard and mouse in the sales package… just kidding!
