The Sphere Hi-tech Bed
Now the Sphere is one bed all Casanovas should strive to have in their pad. Not only does it get the emotions running with its silky red color, it features a 32″ LCD TV built right into its frame, letting you lounge about comfortably with a loved one safely in your arms while enjoying your favorite movie. In addition, surround sound speakers have already been integrated into the frame itself, enveloping you completely in pure aural bliss. Heck, the luxury doesn’t stop there as there is more room to chill a bottle of bubbly, while a massage unit right under the mattress rounds off the impressive list of features. Laser Challenge Pro

These two monster weapons are packed with enough technology to keep you happy for hours, if not months. Each gun has a 75m range as well as a laser dot sighting spot (as is required in pretty well every macho boy movie) to make targeting your enemy easier and a lot more fun.

If you get hit ten times you’re not only dead, but you’ll need some lessons.

Wave Case for iPhone

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

As I may have mentioned, my iPhone is terribly spoiled; always has to have the latest case, the newest earbuds, or the system mysteriously slows down. Right now, it’s sporting the new Wave case by Griffin, ($24.99) which is a bright red and made of a translucent polycarbonate shell.

Named the Wave case because of the unique wave-shaped closure, it provides greater interlocking surface area, so you can carry your iphone and keep it somewhat protected in case of drops.

11-button Multimedia Mouse : Any function is just a click away

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

It looks like the modest pc mouse has finally decided to join the “rat” race. Well, what else could it be, especially when continued “innovation” in the pc peripheral market has produced a mouse with – hold your breath – 11 buttons!

With the 11-button optical mouse, most of your frequent operations can be accomplished with a single click. Volume up/down, page forward/backward, play/pause, 4-levels of speed adjustment, launching your browser, plus the normal right/left click functions have been integrated into this unique fella. The greatest achievement of the mouse is perhaps that it manages to retain a sleek look while sporting all this added fuctionality, with buttons placed quite cleverly.

To enable music sharing is legal, to download it isn’t?

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

On Monday two judges in two separate copyright violation lawsuits came to opposite conclusions regarding the legality of sharing music files on peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.

In a case in Boston against a group of students, Judge Nancy Gertner concluded that copyright infringement does not occur from just allowing files to reside where they are accessible by others on the Internet.

Want to be a Geek intern?
Geek.com is looking for a few driven individuals for our newly-launched summer internship program. If you are interested in technology and you want to write about it someplace aside from your Facebook wall then this could be your chance. The hours will be long, and the work thankless, but you’ll have access to some cool gear and as many press releases as you can handle. If you are in the NYC area then there will be a few events as well. We need people who have an excellent understanding of current technology, strong writing skills, and at least a basic understanding of HTML and image editing. If interested send us an email with “Intern” somewhere in the title. (Read the full post about ‘Want to be a Geek intern?’…)

Sony Thinks about HDTVs with Integrated Blu-Ray. No Thanks

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

That’s according to Ryoji Chubachi, the CEO of Sony Electronics. Sony thinks that there is a market for such TVs, and they might be right for Japan, where apartments can be very small. However, even when I lived in a tiny apartment in Europe, I hated the idea of having an integrated player (VHS, DVD…) embedded in my TV.

Sony wants to grab as much “Blu-Ray hardware” market share as it can in 2008, so I guess that these TVs will show up sometimes this year, probably in Q4.

NTT floats a “Mobile Fragrance Communications” biscuit

NTT floats a “Mobile Fragrance Communications” biscuit
Posted Apr 7th 2008 6:10AM by Thomas Ricker The morning has only begun and already the first oddity has been unleashed in Japan. You’re looking at NTT DoCoMo Communications “Mobile Fragrance Communications Kit” which is based on the same scent delivery technology NTT has already deployed into homes and movie theaters. Fragrance playlists are downloaded to your DoCoMo phone and then transmitted over Ir to the portable “aroma generator” pre-loaded with base fragrances. The scents are then unleashed into the room under the accompaniment of new-age MIDIs and animated GIFs we presume will include dancing pandas and Hello Kitty cats. Ugh. The pilot program runs from April 10th to the 20th and will undoubtably be a huge success in the (Read the full post about ‘NTT floats a “Mobile Fragrance Communications” biscuit’…)

A Bike that Walks

Written by admin on Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

A Bike that Walks
Competing with the milipede with the most number of shoes worn at one time, the walking bike is a novel, intriguing, and funny bicycle design. Designed by Max Knight, this one of a kind bicycle replaces its tyres with eight trainers per. Of course, I very much doubt this’ll ever be produced in mass, but the walking bike actually (kind of) works! You can see the video below. The rides a bit bumpy, but with the bike running on shoes, I reckon most of us would be quite forgiving. Now if only we can see a walking car, I’ll be one of the most amused people on earth.
