MUMU iShine Q18 MP3 Player – Cuteness Does Buy One Points

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 in gadgets.

We always say that good design sells and this might become true for the Mumu iShine Q18 in select market (which ones, I don’t know). But this music player comes in a variety of interesting colors, including White, Black, Red and “Baby Blue”. On the photos, it has a clean and cute look, although it remains to be seen how good the manufacturing quality is. Finally, it’s cheap – about $58, so what’s holding it back? Probably the incompatibility wit Vista, the lack of import and a very ugly product name. Specs in the full post.

Bracketron Nav-Mat GPS Dash Mount

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 in gadgets.

The Bracketron Nav-Mat GPS dash mount is a good alternative for those who are looking for a GPS mount to replace their suction cup mounts as the latter is prohibited in some areas. It is easy to install as it requires no tools for installation (no drilling involved!) but instead, has a non-slip base made out of a bean bag for stability as it moulds to the surface of the dashboard and a non-slip base to keep it from sliding off making it hassle free for consumers who do not want to go through the trouble of finding ways to install their suction cup GPS mounts because of a non-stick surface on the dashboard or not having a convenient location of securing it.

Air Piano

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 in gadgets.

Almost everybody has played air guitar one way or the other; especially while watching some rock band’s music video, but what about an Air Piano? Omer Yosha has created the Air Piano, which is an electronic piano of sorts, but allows users to play it without physically touching the piano itself.

The Air Piano uses infrared technology to detect the user’s hand movements over it, and plays the appropriate note based on where the movement came from, including the height. The Air Piano is even able to detect if the hand is hovering over the same spot, and will sustain the note.

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 in gadgets.

Yesterday we reported that Microsoft could be acquiring Powerset in the coming months. Well, just a day later and Microsoft has officially confirmed the acquisition of Powerset.

According to Microsoft, it bought Powerset because it was impressed with the people there, but also because they share a vision to take search to the next level by understanding the intent and meaning behind people’s search terms. By joining forces with Powerset, Microsoft hopes to improve its understanding of users’ intent behind their searches and provide an improved user experience, instead of just running a straight query on the keywords used and forcing users to click through numerous results to find what they want.

Samsung i740 Low-End Windows Mobile Smartphone
We believe that the Samsung i740 is a low-budget smartphone. Of course, we’re excited about the Samsung OMNIA (i900), there is also a need to recognize that there are people who would like a PDA-phone that’s less expensive but still capable of handling push-email and GPS functions, two functionalities that arguably do not “require” 3G speeds or massive screen resolution. Also, because it’s designed for the casual user and not the corporate worker, there is no QWERTY keyboard. The presence of FM radio is interesting, however. More specifications in the full post. I’ll pass… and you? [via idnes.cz] (Read the full post about ‘Samsung i740 Low-End Windows Mobile Smartphone’…)

Konami confirms Castlevania Judgement for Wii

Written by admin on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 in gadgets.

It may not be what you were hoping for when you heard the two words, “Castlevania” and “Wii” in the same sentence, but it might just still be fun. Castlevania Judgement will be the first Castlevania game for the Nintendo console, and it’s unlike any Castlevania you’ve ever played. Why? It’s a 3D fighter.

Scans surfaced last week of the game in an upcoming issue of Nintendo Power, and now Konami has made it official via press release. According to the release, the game will be all about the online play. You will, indeed, be able to whip people all over the world with gesture-based controls that utilize both the Wii controller and nunchuk.
