Nikon Coolpix P6000 Leaked

Written by admin on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 Leaked
Could the image you see on the right actually be the Nikon Coolpix P6000? Well, that’s what some people claim, but never mind what it looks like. What’s more important would be the specifications attached to a camera, and the P6000 does not disappoint for a point-and-shoot camera. It boasts a 13.5 megapixel sensor which is way up there for a camera of its class, despite being a couple of notches below the DSLR range. You’d best stock up on memory cards for the P6000 if you’re thinking of picking this one up come August for $400. (Read the full post about ‘Nikon Coolpix P6000 Leaked’…)

TomTom HD Traffic passes through FCC, expect in States soon
TomTom came out with a GPS that boasts HD traffic capabilities, and it had been a hit in Europe. It recently passed through the FCC, and should be available in the US soon…hopefully. Details are scarce on this GPS, as there is no word on who will be the carrier for this, and how much the services will cost. Basically, HD traffic uses cell phone data to display real time traffic updates. You might be thinking, there are already GPS’ which can give live traffic updates, what makes HD traffic so special? Well, HD traffic gives up to 5 times more traffic data and it covers up to 10 times more roads than GPS’ with basic live traffic updates. Nokia Haptikos Touchscreen Technology

Nokia Haptikos Touchscreen Technology
Nokia’s haptikos tactile touchscreen technology is pretty interesting, with the Finnish cell phone manufacturer recently filing a patent application for it. Haptikos technology is meant to create a “variable and controllable user perceived surface roughness or friction coefficient”, and this is achieved by placing a “plurality of closely spaced voltage controllable protuberances” which can be either lowered or raised on a touchscreen surface. Sounds like rocket science to me, but as long as it offers the relevant tactile feedback while I’m sifting through the relevant applications on my Nokia super smartphone, I’m a happy man. How and when do you think Apple will take the tactile feedback route with their iphone? (Read the full post about ‘Nokia Haptikos Touchscreen Technology’…)

iZap Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer

iZap Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer
Most of us do not give a second thought to our toothbrushes when we travel, but have you ever wondered just how many germs crawl all over it? With the iZap Travel Toothbrush Sanitizer, all that is a thing of the past. The iZap is a travel toothbrush sanitizer, the tinted (or clear) case works with most electrical toothbrush heads, as well as the standard ones. The case is lightweight and not all that much larger than a traditional travel toothbrush case…but the iZap contains a Germicidal UV bulb that is proven to eliminate up to 99.9% of germs. The bulb turns on as soon as the lid to the case is closed, sanitizes your toothbrush for about 6 minutes and then automatically shuts off. Wii Keyboard
Well, the contrary to popular belief, you don’t wave the Wii Keyboard around like some madman while playing a ported version of Typing of the Dead. No sir, this QWERTY pad enables you to type quite comfortably without relying on pointing out the letters that you want with the Wiimote. It is slated for a July 18th release date, retailing for £14.99. Not an essential, but nice to have. (Read the full post about ‘Wii Keyboard’…)

Video: Tiny hands-on with Swinxs

When this Swinxs RFID game console arrived at the doorstep of our European annex to test, we realized our dilemma: kids, we need kids, preferably the type who won’t mind being tricked into a little physical activity. Fortunately, we’ve always got a few 3-footers lurking around the Engadget “waste acre” scrounging for circuit boards to strip of their gold. Presumably then, in violation of several international child labor laws, we put Swinxs to the grueling challenge of entertaining three kids, city-hardened, and angry at the establishment after their respective 5-, 6- and 7-years of big city livin’. How did Swinxs fare? (Read the full post about ‘Video: Tiny hands-on with Swinxs’…)

Averatec All-In-One PC brings a little generic flair to the party

Averatec All-In-One PC brings a little generic flair to the party
Averatec’s been trying to bring a little pop to its products lately, and the new All-In-One PC (seriously, that’s what it’s called) is the company’s sleekest effort to date, copping a little style from both the iMac and the Gateway One. Your $1249 won’t buy you anything spectacular behind that 22-inch display, but it’s not too bad either: 2.4GHz E4600 Core 2 Duo with GeForce 8400 graphics, 2GB RAM, a 320GB disk, and Vista Home Premium. That’s not a particularly astounding deal compared to the name-brand all-in-ones, but the specs are slightly better, so if you’re spending nights ripping the labels off your jeans, it looks like you’ve got the perfect machine to start working on that followup to Plastic Surgery Disasters. Written by admin on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 in gadgets.

I’m a proud owner of a white Sony DSC T70 so this post doesn’t really turn on my gadget lust as most of my other posts usually do, but I can’t help but want the little pink card reader adaptor that’s included in the package!

I wonder where I can buy one of those media adaptors, hehe. I just hate lugging around a card reader. Hate jumbled wires!

Where to buy: Sony Style
Price: $199.99
