Rogers caves on iPhone 3G plans, offers up 6GB for $30 a month
by Paul Miller, posted Jul 9th 2008 at 10:27AM Those kind, gentle Canadians have been oh-so-politely demanding a few heads on sticks ever since Rogers’ super-spendy iPhone 3G price plans were announced. Well, apparently their cries have been heard, and now Rogers is launching a promotional offer along with the iPhone of 6GB of data for $30 a month — not quite unlimited data, but close enough — which can be added on top of any regular voice plan. The promo will be available for iphone buyers who activate with a three year contract before August 31. Also, perhaps in a bid to dispel some nasty rumors about a major iPhone shortage, Rogers will be hosting 8AM launch day events at six Rogers Plus stores in major Canadian cities, complete with a free breakfast. Yoyo Lamp

Yoyo Lamp
German designers Catarina von Matérn and Lisa Lindström have thought up of the Yoyo Lamp, but this one won’t be able to perform tricks such as “walking the dog” or you’ll end up with an unenviable mess to clear up. The cable measures 16 meters long, enabling you to roll the lamps nearly anywhere you choose. As for the 18″ drum-shaped lamp itself, it is constructed from a durable transluscent polyethylene which makes soft light distribution a snap. A fragile sticker ought to come with every purchase, so make sure active kids are kept away from the Yoyo Lamp. (Read the full post about ‘Yoyo Lamp’…)

Volkswagen Concept Vehicles

Volkswagen Concept Vehicles
Volkswagen does not aim to rest on its laurels, and know that concept designs are the way to move forward in the current day and age. After all, you can’t remain in the same place for long without growing, right? This concept car that you see here won’t be able to sprout wings and take to the skies, but it does offer a smartness level that is unprecedented to date (of course, otherwise it wouldn’t be a concept, would it?). The Volkswagen concept is able to interact with traffic lights, park by itself and change colors (to suit your mood, I presume) at your whim and fancy. I won’t hold my breath though as such a concept might not even appear when 2028 rolls around - not to mention the lack of available gas by then. Buffalo Solar-powered Keyboard

Buffalo Solar-powered Keyboard
I don’t know how many of you are nuts enough to work under the blazing sun, but Buffalo thinks that there are enough numbers to warrant the manufacturing of this solar-powered wireless keyboard. I guess normal sunlight through the windows into the room ought to be sufficient to keep it powered, but I have absolutely no idea just how long the battery will last before it needs to head out under the sun again. Hopefully the plastics used to manufacture this keyboard are durable enough to withstand the unforgiving rays of the sun. Not recommended for those who love to work late into the night. Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan

Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan
Rogers have finally buckled under pressure where the 3G iPhone plans are concerned, where the promotional 6GB data plan will cost you $30 monthly if you happen to subscribe to a 3-year contract before the 31st of next month. It won’t be close (at all) to the unlimited data package, but unless you use the 3G iphone as a modem primarily, 6GB is plenty of bandwidth where casual Internet surfing is concerned. It will be a different matter altogether if you happen to be one heavy Torrent addict. (Read the full post about ‘Rogers offer Cheaper 3G iPhone Plan’…)
