Want a Wii? Buy Comcast Triple Play

Written by admin on Monday, July 28th, 2008 in gadgets.

Comcast has a pretty notorious reputation for customer service. Between throttling BitTorrent users and lousy technical support, they’re a pretty hard sell in the internet, phone, and cable game. Sure, they may offer a huge amount of channels, and internet speeds that blast Cox out of the water; but who wants to put up with a finalist for Consumerist’s Worst Company In America contest.

Oh, wait. Forget what I just said. Apparently, Comcast is doing something pretty sweet for new customers interested in their ever-so-thrifty Triple Play package. If you sign up for two years of the service, you can get yourself a brand new Nintendo Wii.

Dark Knight Bat-Logo calls no one

Dark Knight Bat-Logo calls no one
Every once in a while, some product comes out that looks good and is available for order, but there is very little information available about it. This leads potential customers to doubt its validity. Such is the case for The Dark Knight Bat-Logo Project Key Ring. This product is exactly what it sounds like, a key ring that can project the bat-signal on the wall. Unfortunately, there isn’t really a good demonstration of this product, except what you see here in this picture. Too bad there isn’t a YouTube video on the site, but the only video I see is a preview of The Dark Knight. Many blogs have reported on this suspicion, and many have also complained that it is the old bat-signal from before Christopher Nolan’s rebooted franchise. Blackberry Bold Delayed in US

Blackberry Bold Delayed in US
Fans of the blackberry Bold will have to wait a little bit longer as the smartphone’s release has just been delayed on both Rogers and AT&T, although the latter’s delay is much longer compared to Roger’s date which was pushed from July 25 to July 29 (which is tomorrow, btw). AT&T subscribers will have to wait until the middle of next month though, and the handset will only hit retail stores somewhere around September 1. Telstra in Australia has just announced that the Bold will make its debut in that corner of the world at the end of September. They say good things come to those who wait, but waiting can be a real pain at times if you’re the impatient type. (Read the full post about ‘Blackberry Bold Delayed in US’…)

Wii-controlled Canoe

Written by admin on Monday, July 28th, 2008 in gadgets.

It’s summer and isn’t it time you got out of the house to get a little bit of tan on that pale body? If you’re so hard up on not letting the Wiimote go, why not settle for a Wii-controlled canoe? The boat you see in the video above is powered by a tiny electric motor, where a modified Wii Nunchuck is used with an Arduino to steer the canoe. This will last as long as the batteries don’t die (naturally), where you’ll then need to rely on paddle power instead.

FuChat Cordless Phone

FuChat Cordless Phone
The FuChat cordless phone concept will cater to both landlines and Internet calls, and is smart enough to help the user increase their emotional self-awareness thanks to sensors that detect changes in one’s voice tone as well as the body temperature. Perfect for Bruce Banner as he tries to negotiate his pay raise with his employers - the FuChat cordless phone will definitely go a long way in helping his stay calm lest he walk away from the ruins of his umpteenth office. It will be interesting to see whether the FuChat will be released in the near future, if ever. It gets rather unnerving to know that a machine is capable of telling me how I feel. Special Edition Seo Tai-Ji P2

Special Edition Seo Tai-Ji P2
Samsung’s P2 digital audio player isn’t unique by any means, but Samsung has released a special edition model known as the Seo Tai-Ji P2. Named after a Korean rock star, this new P2 will come with a new graphical user interface, icons, tones and an equalizer without having you to fork out additional dough. Gotta love the packaging on this thing, although the environmental impact will be there if millions of this are sold like hot cakes. The Samsung Seo Tai-Ji P2 was released to commemorate the rock star’s 8th album that will roll out tomorrow. (Read the full post about ‘Special Edition Seo Tai-Ji P2′…)
