Mint’s V10 mini projector gets price and release date
by Darren Murph, posted Aug 1st 2008 at 10:12AMWait, who’s this Mint character anyway? Ah, yes — that Australian firm that hires Aiptek to do at least some of its dirty work. The V10 mini projector that we spotted earlier this year has been blessed with an official price and release date, promising a VGA beam in the palm of your hand for around $600 this September. As a refresher, you’ll get 1GB of internal storage, a microSD expansion slot and a woefully inadequate 60 minutes of battery life. Njoy Balance Board

Njoy Balance Board
Guess Nintendo doesn’t have a monopoly any more when it comes to the Wii Balance Board, thanks to the efforts of accessory manufacturer Njoy and their own take, resulting in the Njoy Balance Board. This peripheral will be released on September 12th in the UK, retailing for a surprisingly expensive £64.99. I suppose they had to raise prices considering the inclusion of an LCD display. Njoy has not released any details concerning the function of this LCD display, but I am thinking that this device doubles up as a bathroom scale when it isn’t being stepped upon during a frantic Wii gaming session. Leaf AFi 10 is a 56-megapixel wonder
Some of you may remember when we covered the Hasselblad H3DII-50 camera, and I believed that I referred to Hasselblad’s products as “the gourmet of cameras”.  For those who long for more gourmet cameras, there is some new cuisine to sample as Leaf has introduced the AFi 10 camera system.  The AFi 10 has a whopping 56-megapixels, which is six more than the aforementioned Hasselblad model.  The features of this camera include a 56×36 true wide frame sensor with great resolution across the entire width of the 6×6 sensor area. ASUS Eee Box gets… unboxed!
by Donald Melanson, posted Aug 1st 2008 at 12:18PM We’ve already seen the Eee Box out and about getting demoed and ripped apart, but if you’ve been waiting for a taste of the full box to Box experience that may be in your future, you can now hit up PC Authority for a suitably thorough gallery of pics. That helpfully not only includes the usual pictures of the always-fascinating unboxing process, but some comparison shots with an Eee PC 901, which is about the same size, and a playstation 3, which could crush the Eee Box without so much as breaking a sweat. Glow Rings help you locate you bedside drink
A great deal of people take a drink to bed with them at night.  Me, once I’m out, I’m out so there is really no need for a glass of water.  Also admittedly, I’m paranoid when it comes to spiders and I always half expect to take a big gulp of water and find one caught in my throat.  Yes, I’m aware I’m seriously cracked in the head.  Well if you haven’t been scared out of bringing water to bed with you, you might consider picking up one of these little gadgets. LG to release Netflix streaming Blu-Ray player

LG to release Netflix streaming Blu-Ray player
LG Electronics is making good on it’s promise to bring Netflix streaming to your TV.  LG’s new Blu-Ray player, the LG BD3000, that will release this fall will have the service integrated automatically.  Those with Netflix accounts can stream videos from their queue as well as browse the full library of titles without having to go to a computer. The player will of course also play Blu-Ray discs, and DVDs, up-converting the DVDs to 1080p if your TV can handle it.  This may edge out the playstation 3 as the Blu-Ray player to get if you don’t like playing video games.  Netflix streaming movies aren’t quite HD quality as of right now, most are actually around or just about DVD quality, so Blu-Ray discs will be more desirable for movies you’ll want to watch over and over again, but it’s a great for an On Demand type of service, with more the 12,000 titles available when the machine launches. Possible GP3X image leaked

Possible GP3X image leaked
A leaked photograph of a new handheld device is reported to be a prototype version of the GP3X. Some of you may remember Joel’s mini-review of the GP2X back in 2006 – a Linux-based device sporting a 240MHz dual core CPU, 64MB of NAND and a 320×240 backlit LCD. Rather than hacking the firmware to play MAME games on your PSP, or installing Linux on your DS, the GP2X does both out the box. MAME, NeoGeo, SNES, Genesis, Atari ST, Amiga, you name the retro system and it probably had an emulator for the games. Not to mention all the other features on offer including homebrew games development and a range of multimedia playback capabilities. (Read the full post about ‘Possible GP3X image leaked’…)

Asus looks to return to their Eee roots, enter the Eee PC 701SD
The original Eee PC 701, its an almost forgotten model of the Eee lineup, which is sad because its not a bad model, but Asus has since taken the Eee name and filled it to the breaking point with newer, better, slightly bigger and of course more expensive models. However it seems there is some hope for that good old Eee PC 701, the latest info is coming courtesy of some leaked slides, but it looks like Asus will be returning to the 701 model with the introduction of a 701SD, 701SD (30GB) and 701SD (4GB). We don’t have any news to report on pricing, but we can only hope that Asus will be returning to where they began and are looking to get back on track as far as offering a low-priced netbook. PQI M722 Memory Card Reader

Written by admin on Friday, August 1st, 2008 in gadgets.

PQI M722 Memory Card Reader
Do you happen to migrate all of your data to the microSD format? Well, most older memory card readers won’t support microSD/SDHC cards natively but require you to have an adapter instead, but PQI aims to ease that hassle with the PQI M722 two-in-one memory card reader that does microSD, microSDHC and M2 memory cards. It is tiny enough to double up as a cell phone dongle, and with many handsets these days relying on the microSD format, it is a no brainer to get one for yourself. No idea on the pricing, but it will come in black and red colors. (Read the full post about ‘PQI M722 Memory Card Reader’…)
